Henna is an ancient form of temporary body art that has been practiced by cultures across India, Northern Africa and the Middle East for thousands of years. In this workshop you will learn what henna is, where it comes from, its history, mixing and storing henna paste, the science of henna on skin and basic design elements. You will also receive your own henna kit containing supplies to begin your own henna journey. Register by Wednesday, February 28 to reserve your spot.
Elyse Sadtler, our new resident Henna Artist, is an Internationally Certified Natural Henna artist based in Kent, Connecticut. Her passion for this temporary form of body art began in middle school when a friend from India introduced her to the ancient art form. Elyse loves the dynamic way henna paste moves and flows into the skin, and that henna allows endless freedom of creative expression. She also enjoys sharing the beauty of henna with others, putting her degrees in education to use by teaching classes and workshops.
